I was wondering, are the types of farms the same? or are there more or less?

What's the stance on banners in CVC? I mean, I can live without them hanging around near the chests. But will those be allowed to show people what they are actually buying? Idk if I can explain the entirety of a design of a banner in just one sign.

All the types of wood will be available, sand will be available, ice in some form, and clay as well. The style of the farms will be different than Map 5 though.

And remember, if you're selling blocks, you can put your chest on a sample block. Or if you're selling pink ink, put it on a pink wool block.

I'm excited about having a lag free CVC! CVC will still be the heart of the map, since that's where we spawn in, its just located a bit off to one side... I can not WAIT to show the map to you guys! I've seen bits and pieces myself (mods aren't allowed to wander away from our work zones) and people, it's freakin' AWESOME.

No, banners won't be permitted either, so probably CVC will be the wrong place for a banner shop. I'd recommend to open a store (or maybe multiple themed stores?) in player-made towns and put up a representative build in CVC to draw people's attention.

bandnerdmama Wrote:Will gamelands have its own inventory like the quest world? I remember it being discussed to help prevent people from accidentally losing stuff in PVP (asking for a friend).

I wonder who that friend might be xD Yes, the games skylands will have separate inventories too.

duskflower Wrote:At first I was upset at all the plot restrictions but now I realize that it might prompt more players to open shops outside of CVC and hopefully villages and towns will have more interesting shopping!

There was not much demand for shop plots in other towns, and my two shops in other cities made almost no revenue ever. And if more people are interested in opening shops in player towns, that might again encourage town owners to put more work into making nice towns with shop districts. So I hope we will have a less CVC-centric world this time.

Plus guardian hunting.

wahvie Wrote:Then one I'm assuming not for but would quests save progress for the players? (Like not have to start over... that would just be kinda annoying for me though)

Your quest status will transfer over from the old map, no need to restart. Players who already got their SK certificate but didn't manage to save up the 1000c yet will still be able to get the discount SK on the new map.

Okay, so I'm still a little confused with plot stuff.
•We'll still be able to have CVC plots, right?
•How much will they cost if we can have them?
•What do you mean, moni, by 'it may force shop owners to change their shops to be less like "one-stop shops"'?

As to the question of redstone in CVC, there were already very few, if any, CVC shops run without SK. Now that the SK quest has been out a while and with so many people receiving donations to get SK before CV5 ends, it seems unlikely anyone buying a plot will not have SK, or it would not be as hard to get SK if they did not have it.

Redstone itself causes more lag than it should due to fairly rubbish coding on redstone that makes it run light updates and block updates that are totally unnecessary. That's why it has been included in the list. If people really want to to use redstone in their shop they can always open one in a town or village instead.

As for reaching the corners of the map, there are still going to be drops to get out towards the corners so I don't think that will be a problem with the new off center CVC.

Our players have complained about lag in CVC all map long, even on previous maps, and we understand how frustrating that can be. These rules are being implemented for the purpose of reducing that lag and frustration by ensuring that the entity count remains low. CVC is never the only town or village on the map, and so all your redstone contraptions/armor stands/item frames/etc can be used there instead.

If anything, it may force shop owners to change their shops to be less like "one-stop shops" and instead we will have access to more creative (build-wise), specialty shops. It'll be interesting to see how CVC shops will look in the coming weeks.

:o well sounds good but umm...I don't suppose that no redstone rule counts for selling redstone Tongue lol jk. Well, sounds like the new CV is awesome! I still gotta crash it tho sorry mwahahahaha

Yes, plots will still be available for purchase.

Pricing will be the same as it always has been.

What I mean, is that since we are disallowing items like item frames and banners and armor stands, it will be a bit more difficult for shop owners to show off their wares.... and thus may lead to them building smaller, more specialized shops versus giant mega superstores.

I know you staff have worked hard on the map and you probably had many discussions on everything I'm saying, and I mean no disrespect to the staff or their work, the Map definitely sounds awesome but I think it's changed quite some bit.

When you see where CVC is, you'll see why we picked that spot. Smile It's beautiful!

RE: More 6.0 info
CVC being off centre sort of reminds me of map 3, where spawn was in the ocean and CVC was a few 100 blocks away. The change wont be so great for those who have come from map 3 cause we went from ocean to land for spawn, and from large to small CVC on maps 4 to 5. As for the redstone/machines LAG problem, I have seen many CV's come and go and believe me The changes Staff implement are not that worrisome, cause with a new map and new MC update comes new things that we can do. This changes all the playing field to its max. I mean, for those who came from map 4 to map 5, you will know what we had to deal with, with the new ways Mojang wanted us to play. So what did we do.. WE CHANGED. So with a new map comes new change in all of the Minecraft ways.
I am getting excited now.. with all the things I just read.
Can't wait CV.

And as for speciality shops... Has anyone watched Hermitcraft. (watch this from about 5mins to 8 1/2 mins and keep an eye on the shops around ReN... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7qjKK4I6...A&index=72 ). This is the best vid I could find sorry. The crews shopping district is one awesome place to see. They have speciality shops and the builds for them are outta this world... I mean they built in accordance to what the shop was selling. Eg: The Elyrta shop is made in the shape of wings and u have to pearl into the pink glassed area in the wings. Magma blocks shop is made of magma cubes and nether related. The Booster Rocket shop is a rocket. A Rabbit for the rabbit sales shop and a gold/yellow rabbit for gold carrot shop... etc.
So come on people... lets get our thinking caps on and make map 6 one to Admire for years to come.
Make CV6 the world people remember.

Yus.. over the years Minecraft changes, & so does CV. We've gotta grow too I know some of these changes might seem intimidating or off feeling for some but trust us. Once you guys get on the new map you'll get back to a new normal & you'll hopefully love it. Smile Just imagine CVC with very minimal lag.. how great will that be?! Especially for you tis!

That is something that pretty much NOBODY did on CV5 - at least not that I noticed. I think these things sound amazing and I'm now looking forward to doing something similar.

My all-in-one shop became overwhelming and people rarely shopped there. I had decided not to do a shop next map. Perhaps I will do a cheap specialty shop instead.

I'm getting ideas already! No item frames? No problem!
